Another year, another set of goals. 2018 will be the year of “yes” in so many ways and I’m excited about what’s to come!

The start of the new year is always a good time to reflect on the past and then set goals for the future. Last year, I sprained my left knee during skiing that left me unable to run for the longest time. Before the injury, I was running 20 miles a week regularly, motivated, eager, and well disciplined on my workouts. All of a sudden, everything came to a halt! I knew if I wanted my knee to get better, I just needed to give it time and let it heal on its own.

I’ve got to admit, those few months were really difficult. From a lack of regular training, I felt frustrated, weak, and tired instead of energized and motivated like I was used to.  Without a set workout schedule, I had no motivation for even the low impact exercises like yoga and stretching. But guess what? It’s a new year and I’m determined to achieve new goals! Here’s what I’m say “yes” to:

Say “yes” to small, achievable goals — I want to get back into distance running, which means I need to work on developing a good base and strength. At the same time, I don’t want to overdo it. I want to feel refreshed and ready to go when I start a training program again, so taking small steps and setting achievable milestones are key.

Say “yes” to being challenged – what I’ve found is that a little pressure is a good thing. While I may not be ready to run another half marathon in three months’ time, I am looking to sign up for a 5K in the next few months (even better when it’s for a good cause!). We all have to start somewhere right? Nothing is better at holding me accountable than signing up for a race because it takes a lot of hard work and determination to get to the starting line. Every time I want to throw the towel in during a run, I’ll remember my goal and keep going since I know that would get me closer and closer to that goal.

Say “yes” to taking better care of my health – my goal this year is to be in tune with my body and listen to the messages it’s sending me, whether it’s in the mental and physical sense. When I wake up not feeling well, I listen to my body, rather than push it past its limits. I need to be better in setting aside time for rest, whether it is turning my phone and laptop off in the evening, winding down earlier at night, or taking time to meditate. As for physical health, my priority is to get back to a regular meal routine with wholesome, nutritious foods.

I’m loving Well Yes!® Soups, which are all deliciously crafted with care and non-gmo ingredients, and do not contain artificial flavors or colors. That makes it so easy to say yes and make confident choices. I also love that Well Yes! soups are made with nutritious ingredients, like chicken meat with no antibiotics, sweet potatoes, kale, and quinoa. Plus, all of the soups contain non-bpa lining so that’s a bonus.

These Well Yes! Soups also come in handy for busy days when I don’t have enough time to pack lunch or just want to have a light dinner. They’re so tasty and make great mealtime solutions I can feel good about.
