Hooray for Spring – I am loving that the sun is now setting later in the day and colorful flowers are blooming everywhere.  For me, Spring is all about getting together with friends and family after a season of hibernation.  It also happens that many of my friends and family’s birthdays (including my own!) are in Spring, so there are plenty of reasons to celebrate.  Today I’ve come up with a beverage recipe for simple celebrations I know you’ll love.

Blackberry lime fizz makes a delicious and refreshing cocktail – perfect for springtime and warmer months!  These cocktails are great for those times when unexpected guests drop by for a visit or when you decide to host a last minute dinner party.  Also suitable for birthday parties, baby showers, and holidays!

They look impressive and fancy, but they’re really quick and easy to make.  You can serve this in a pitcher, but for some style and flair, you can serve it in a punch bowl and float an ice ring in the center to keep it cold.  I made mine in a bundt pan with berries and lime slices for a pop of color.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Canada Dry® Blackberry Ginger Ale
  • 1 750 mL bottle chilled sparkling wine
  • 2 tbsps. lime juice
  • Lime slices and fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Ice or ice ring for serving

Instructions

  • In a large pitcher or punch bowl, add ginger ale, sparkling wine, and lime juice, and stir gently to mix. Garnish with lime slices and mint leaves if desired. Serve cold with ice.

I used Canada Dry® Blackberry Ginger Ale to give these drinks their tasty blackberry flavor.  Made with real ginger, it’s a seasonal product available at Ahold stores (I found it at the soda aisle of my local Stop and Shop ) from March through May 2016 and is great as a mixer or on its own as a refreshment for casual gatherings.
