8 crowd-pleasing appetizers to get you ready for the Super Bowl: healthy dips, sticky wings, and more!
Well, #Snowmageddon2015 turns out to be a wimpy one and clearly a forecast miss again! Although New York City didn’t get hit by a blockbuster winter storm, it was still a pretty nasty one. I am glad to have watched the storm from the inside instead of being in the storm.
This is what it looked like on Monday afternoon. People rushing to get home, long lines at the grocery store, and believe or not, a travel ban was in effect from 11pm to yesterday morning!
Here is the view from our apartment towards the Hudson River. On the left, you can’t see the river at all! On the right, however, it was a clear (you can even see New Jersey across the river) and beautiful end to the storm that wasn’t. I’m just thankful it’s all over!
At any rate, Super Bowl is just around the corner, and I thought I’d share a few nibbles and bites this week to help you gear up for the big game. Even if you don’t enjoy football, a good appetizer recipe is always good to have in your back pocket, no?
I’m kicking things off with these Sweet and Sticky Hot Wings which are always a crowd pleaser!
Creamy Greek Yogurt Guacamole is a savory dip that’s sure to score big points with the health-conscious snackers.
These poppable Smoky Chipotle Deviled Eggs pack a punch of flavors but are super easy to make!
Beer Battered Cajun Shrimp has all of the components of perfect game-day food: big, bold flavors, crispy, AND crunchy. Feel free to use your favorite beer in the batter!
Combine cream cheese, spicy chili, fresh salsa, and a cheese layer melted over the top and you’ve got a touchdown that is Four-Layer Chili Cheese Dip!
Or you can go for a lighter bite with Fresh Pineapple Salsa.
Honey Roasted Sriracha Chickpeas are great for nibbling between field goals! Sweet, salty, absolutely addicting!
Last but not least, going for the gourmet finger food route? How about Blue Cheese and Walnut Stuffed Dates?
