M&M’s® Cookie Dough {for Giant Cookie Cake and Peanut Butter Cookie Bars)

This versatile cookie dough makes soft, irresistible M&M’s® cookies -- Giant Cookie Cake or Peanut Butter Cookie Bars? Your choice!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla

For giant cookie cake:

  • 1 cup M&M’s® Plain
  • Frosting for decorations optional

For peanut butter cookie bars:

  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup M&M’s® Peanut

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Add egg and vanilla extract, and mix well. Add dry ingredients and stir until flour mixture is incorporated.
  • To make giant cookie cake: fold in M&M’s® Plain and press dough evenly into a 12-inch pizza or pie pan lightly coated with cooking spray. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top of the cookie cake is light golden brown and slightly firm to the touch. Remove from pan and let cool completely before frosting if desired.
  • To make peanut butter cookie bars: Fold in peanut butter and M&M’s® Peanut, and press dough evenly into a 9" square baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top of the cookie bars is light golden brown and slightly firm to the touch. Remove from pan and let cool completely before cutting into squares or rectangles.
