Cinnamon Sugar Palmiers {Elephant Ears}

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper
  • Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle half of the sugar mix on work surface and lay the puff pastry on top. Sprinkle the remaining sugar evenly on top and roll the puff pastry sheet into an even rectangle.
  • Starting from the long edge, roll up each end of the dough to meet in the middle then fold one half over the other half.
  • Cut the dough into 1/4-inch slices and place the slices on prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 12 minutes until caramelized on one side. Turn the slices over and bake for another 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown.
  • Let cool completely before serving.
