Creamy homemade Roasted Red Pepper Hummus makes an easy snack or appetizer – once you make this, you won’t be buying the storebought stuff anymore!

Have you ever made hummus at home?  I love making my own because I can always adjust the flavors and consistency. Once you try it, it’s really hard to go back to the storebought stuff!

I love to serve this as a party appetizer or as part of a mezze platter (easy lunch option) with toasted pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Roasted red pepper hummus is always a crowd pleaser and so easy to make too! Just throw everything into a blender or food processor and then let it run until the mixture is smooth. You can make your own roasted red peppers, the jarred peppers work just as great!

This hummus is an easy dish to make with ingredients that you may already have in your pantry.

Can you make this hummus ahead of time?

Yes! Store the hummus in an airtight container in the fridge, and it will last up to 3 days. I also like to place a piece of plastic wrap over the hummus before sealing the container to prevent the top from drying out. Alternatively, you can give the hummus a good stir before serving.

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup roasted red peppers diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 15- oz can chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsps fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Place all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve cold or at room temperature with toasted pita or fresh vegetables.

Notes

*Add more olive oil or water if the consistency is too thick.
