Last time I shared with you a DIY chamomile bath salt recipe to create a soothing spa experience in your own home, and today I’m cooking up a sweet, refreshing sugar scrub using basic pantry ingredients! Not only will it exfoliate your skin, the aroma will wake up your skin and mind.

To make a batch, just stir together sugar, olive oil, raw honey, and few drops of essential oil of your choice. And then massage this concoction gently into your skin to get rid of dry and rough skin, leaving your skin super soft and hydrated.

I added lemongrass essential oil to mine to add a lovely scent to the sugar scrub and it just smells amazing – it’s sweet, uplifting, and refreshing. It feels so therapeutic and just stimulates the senses.

I’ve always known about essentials oils but didn’t really start using them regularly until recently. The essential oil I used is from Nature’s Bounty Earthly Elements which offers a wide variety of essential oils with different benefits and uses. For instance, eucalyptus oil is excellent for cooling, calming and balancing. Lavender is soothing and comforting, while peppermint is stimulating and vitalizing.

You can create different moods and enhance the smell of your home or office by adding few drops into a vaporizer or diffuser.

And you can even substitute the lemongrass essential oil with the blend above! I am planning to snag some additional essentials oils for a little more variety soon. I already have a grapefruit coconut sugar scrub and a peppermint foot scrub in mind!

Can I use coconut oil instead of the olive oil in this mix?
If so what would be the amount?
I really enjoy this raw oil in place🎉

    • Yes, you can definitely substitute with the same amount of coconut oil. Because it is solid at room temperature, you might want to warm up the scrub in the microwave until the oil is melted before using.
