The grass is always greener…outside. It’s summer entertaining time, and some of the best events and gatherings happen outside. In my opinion, the best way to relish these warm weather evenings is with a little added ambiance with music.
Music can help us connect with others in ways plain spoken words just can’t. It can soothe your soul, perk you up, or calm frazzled nerves. It not only lifts your spirits in an instant, but also takes you through a full range of emotions. But what about music and wine pairing?
Recently I stumbled upon Notes of Cambria, an innovative approach by Cambria Winery to explore the pairing of music and wine to create a unique wine tasting experience.
Cambria’s Benchbreak Chardonnay and Cambria’s Benchbreak Pinot Noir are estate grown and bottled, high quality wines from the California’s Santa Maria Valley wine-growing region. Musician Kalei Yamanoha was challenged to transform the flavor profiles of the two flagship wines into music.
Wine and music pairings
These musical pairings are a brand new approach to experiencing, learning, and talking about wine to encourage conversation and exploration. While I was immediately drawn to the fun approach in capturing all five senses, I especially enjoyed the Notes of Cambria four-part series. In the videos, Kalei shows us his inspiration and creative process for crafting Chardonnay Shanty and Pinot Noir Waltz, bringing to life the flavors and aromas of the wines in his songs.
Experience Notes of Cambria
I hope you get a chance to sit back, relax, and experience the wine and music pairing. Pick up a bottle or two of Cambria Benchbreak Chardonnay and Benchbreak Pinot Noir (find it near you using this store locator), invite some friends over, and turn your summer get together into a wine and music night.
Now that’s the formula for a fun summer night!
