Remember the speedy treadmill routine I mentioned yesterday? Let me fill y’all in! 30 minutes was all I had to spend on the treadmill, so I put together this quick routine, alternating between short, high-intensity bursts of sprinting and jogging at a slower pace. It’s a great workout before another one that is lower in intensity (such as yoga or an exercise routine that focuses on arm strength), but it’s definitely an efficient one on its own if you’re crunched for time!
So now, maybe if you haven’t gotten in that workout yet, you’ll be able to take 30 minutes out of your day to squeeze in this little sweat session. I know I’m glad I did, seeing how I indulged a bit at the department’s holiday bake-off today. A full table with about twenty platters of cookies, cakes, and pies – how can one resist?! I walked away with a few samplings: pretzel toffee bark, cinnamon roll, cookies n cream rice krispies, and dark chocolate merlot cookies. Plus, a sugar rush afterwards….whoaaaaa!
I gave this routine another go to quickly remedy the damage. ;) If you decide to give it a try, let me know what you think.
By the way, feel free to adjust the speed up or down as necessary — just make sure you feel challenged but not uncomfortable.
In other news, the Holiday Giveaway-a-thon (which started with goodies from OXO, Jamba Juice, and Cuisinart) continues with a giveaway that helps you meet your healthy eating goals! I’m giving away a $50 gift card to Whole Foods Market so that you can shop for some healthy groceries!
