Spiced Holiday Punch is flavored with warm spices and topped off with fizzy soda. A refreshing, festive drink that’s perfectly suited for the holidays!
I’ve got another holiday drink for the books — Spiced Holiday Punch!
5-ingredients, my friends. FIVE INGREDIENTS! It’s incredibly easy and calls for warm spices, many of which I’m sure you already have on hand. Cranberry juice is mixed with cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, and star anise, and then allowed sit for several hours before fizzy soda is added to the punch over ice. 7-Up is one of my favorite cocktail mixers – it has a crisp, clean lemon-lime flavor which enhances just about any fruity drink.
Plan ahead when making this recipe because the cranberry juice does need to sit in the fridge for at least several hours for the flavors to come through.
Make this punch for the holidays in a pitcher, and if you’ve got more than eight thirsty friends, I’d make a double batch in the punch bowl.
You can get all of the ingredients in this recipe at Safeway, along with holiday decor items and entertaining essentials. I was excited to learn that Safeway.com has huge collection of holiday recipes, including scrumptious side dishes and decadent desserts. And if you don’t have time to cook everything from scratch, you can choose from over twenty crowd-pleasing party trays, baked goods, and even floral arrangements!
- 4 cups cranberry juice
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 star anise
- 1-2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cups 7-up
- Frozen cranberries or berries, for garnish (optional)
- Pour cranberry juice into a large pitcher or punch bowl then add nutmeg, star anise, and cinnamon. Refrigerate for 2-24 hours. When ready to serve, add soda to the pitcher then stir to combine. Serve over ice.
And of course, put 7-Up on your list so you can make this cocktail for kids and adults alike. For the adults, you can add a splash of rum or vodka. I love fizzy cocktails, so this punch is really hitting all the bases for me. This drink is festive, tart, and sweet — I think it will be a hit whether you serve it for Christmas or use it to toast in the New Year!
