Today is the first day of winter! Now that the pumpkin- and apple-centric season is officially over, I figure this is the perfect time to round up some of my favorite chocolate recipes I have created this year as a contributor on Jama Cocoa’s blog.
Of all my kitchen appliances, my blender gets quite a workout. I mainly use it to make healthy fruit smoothies and creamy soups, but this past summer, I was guilty of churning out too many milkshakes. This chocolatey milkshake is one of them! If your day is just dragging on, this Black and White Espresso Milkshake will perk you up. Or at least get you through your midday slump.
How about a rich, creamy Chocolate Flan?
When I moved into my current apartment, it took me a long time to get motivated to bake, mainly because my baking ingredients were scattered everywhere — vanilla extract in one cabinet, baking soda in another drawer, spatulas still in moving boxes — it just took too much effort to gather everything. This Molten Chocolate Cake was the first thing I made because it’s that good. I made them for my girlfriends when they came over for dinner (actually I’ve made it twice already for two groups of friends) and it’s been a hit every time! Serve this with some fresh berries or a la mode and with some dessert wine and you’ll have quite the treat on your hands.
Do you like chocolate and beer? I’ve got a savory chocolate dish for you: Chocolate Stout Pork Carnitas!
And finally, make a batch of these Spiced Cocoa-Dusted Popcorn for the holidays and give them away to your favorite chocolate lovers!
