Sparkling Ginger Lemonade

Last Updated on April 15, 2022 by Karen

Fresh ginger adds a warm, spicy kick to the classic drink in this Sparkling Ginger Lemonade! It’s refreshing, delicious, and definitely a crowd pleasing thirst quencher!

I’ve been struggling with whether I should share this drink recipe with you at the start of November.  I mean, what is more befitting than a cup of hot cocoa or apple cider on a chilly, sweater-wearing day, right?

But then I’m thinking, this fizzy concoction really hits the spot as you’re indulging in all of those heavy, meat-centric, butter-laden comfort foods this time of the year! In fact, I love making this drink all year round simply because it tastes delicious and always refreshing.

Can this Sparkling Ginger Lemonade be made ahead of time?

Once you make a batch of this ginger-infused lemonade mixture, you can store it in the fridge for up to two weeks and make yourself a glass whenever you want something cool and refreshing.

You can also pour the mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze for longer storage. When you’re ready to serve, you can thaw out the ice cubes or make a frozen lemonade slushy by blending it with water in a blender!

Can this drink be served hot?

If you’re not in the mood for something icy cold, you can turn this into a hot lemon ginger tea.  Just mix a few spoonfuls of the syrup with hot water (instead of sparkling water) and it becomes the perfect hot toddy.

It’s a great remedy if you have a sore throat or are feeling a bit under the weather.  The warming and soothing effects of ginger do wonders for the body and soul.

What cocktails can you make with this drink?

So many! With the ginger lemonade concentrate, you can whip up a delicious cocktail in no time if you shake it up with some crushed ice, a splash of bourbon, and club soda to top it all off.

For a hot toddy, make a hot lemon ginger tea as I mentioned above, and stir in a splash of rum, whiskey, or brandy.

Can you make a keto-friendly version of this Sparkling Ginger Lemonade?

Of course! You can simply simmer the water and ginger without the sugar. Once the mixture comes to room temperature, you can stir in an alternative sweetener of your choice (equivalent to the sweetness of half cup of sugar).

Others have reported success making this drink with stevia (liquid or powder form), monk fruit sweetener, and erythritol (Swerve).
